Extec was formed in 1987 with the aim of becoming the world leading manufacturer of mobile screening and crushing technology. Initial production began in a small factory in Leicester, where some of the most experienced brains in the screening industry came together.

The simple idea was to construct an integrated screening system that would combine true mobility with high productivity. This resulted in the mould breaking 5000. From the first 5000 the product range has evolved Robotrac, Turbotrac, Doublescreen , Mega-Bite, Impactor, C-12,S-5, C-10, Trommel. Extec has carried out continuous development of its mould breaking designs from the very start.

The Extec range of screens and crushers represents the ultimate collection of tracked and mobile screening and crushing equipment. With unprecedented experience within the screening and crushing industry Extec has produced a range of equipment that caters for virtually all requirements - profitably!

"Due to the success of the machine production was moved first to Brightside lane in Sheffield, and then as the business grew to larger premises in Wincobank. In 1993 a major production site was acquired in Swadlincote, which due to continued growth resulted in bespoke development of both factory and offices that were completed in spring 1999.
